AUBURN, Ala. - On Aug. 16, 2025, at approximately 9 p.m., Auburn Police responded to a crash involving two vehicles at the intersection of Shug Jordan Parkway and Richland Road. Both vehicles sustained heavy damage, and first responders rendered medical aid to the occupants of both vehicles.

The driver and passenger of one of the involved vehicles, an 82-year-old male and a 77-year-old female, required transport for serious injuries. The driver was transported to the East Alabama Medical Center by ambulance, and the passenger was transported to Piedmont Columbus Regional by helicopter. The driver and sole occupant of the other involved vehicle, a 24-year-old male, received first aid at the scene and did not require transport.

The female victim continued to receive medical treatment until she succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at approximately 11 p.m. The crash is being investigated by the Auburn Police Traffic Homicide Unit, however no criminal actions are associated with the crash at this time.
